AI-driven fraud makes UK bank scams harder to spot - SecurityBrief UK

Scamalot Advice

Scammers are now using AI to refine their tactics and make fraudulent communications more convincing — but the fundamental principle remains unchanged: legitimate banks will never pressure you into immediate action or ask you to bypass your own security checks. If you're uncertain, ring your bank directly using the number on your card or statement, not any number provided in a message.

Stop and think before you act. If something feels urgent, threatening, or too good to be true — that urgency is the weapon. Scammers use pressure to override your judgement. Nothing is ever so urgent that you can't take five minutes to check, call back on a number you found yourself, or ask someone you trust.
