Aldi air-con scam

These fraudsters have created lookalike Aldi websites to shift dodgy air con units — check you're on the genuine Aldi site by verifying the URL carefully and never purchase from links sent via email or social media. If the deal seems suspiciously good on an unfamiliar site, it almost certainly is.

Anyone can claim to be from your bank, the police, HMRC, or any authority. Ask for their name and department, hang up, and call back on a number you found independently. Your bank or the police will never ask you to move money to a 'safe account' — that account belongs to the criminal.
