NCSC: Leave passwords in the past - passkeys are the future
This particular alert isn't a scam ΓÇö it's genuine guidance from the National Cyber Security Centre. The real trick scammers will pull is mimicking this message in fake emails or texts to get you to click dodgy links or hand over details; if you see it anywhere but the official NCSC website or their verified channels, ignore it completely.
Stop and think before you act. If something feels urgent, threatening, or too good to be true ΓÇö that urgency is the weapon. Scammers use pressure to override your judgement. Nothing is ever so urgent that you can't take five minutes to check, call back on a number you found yourself, or ask someone you trust.
What's happening
Passkeys are the more secure and user-friendly login method and should be the default authentication option for consumers.
