Scamalot Advice

The People's Postcode Lottery is legitimate, but these fraudsters will contact you claiming you've won without you ever entering. Legitimate lotteries never contact winners unsolicited asking for fees or personal details — if you didn't buy a ticket, you haven't won.

Anyone can claim to be from your bank, the police, HMRC, or any authority. Ask for their name and department, hang up, and call back on a number you found independently. Your bank or the police will never ask you to move money to a 'safe account' — that account belongs to the criminal.
